For the duration of the warm months at East Pond highs are frequently in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. East Pond frequently gets lots of rain; most of the rain falls all through August;
the driest of the months is February. Very delightful scenery and good skiing is what you get at McCauley Mountain, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Big Deer Pond Trail. So many exciting things to do in the Adirondack
Mountains, not enough time. There are some fine whitewater spots on Oswegatchie River - East Branch, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Jock Pond is just a very short distance away.
There's no way anybody can
get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Moose River - South Branch, and North Bay is close at hand and always tremendous to go to.
