Dunk Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. At Dunk Pond through the long summer days highs are in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Dunk Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dunk Pond; Oregon Trail is a great local trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything

| | Dunk Pond has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Pond Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a nice choice. There's so much to do here at Dunk Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Hoss's Country Campground is a brilliant spot for that. Yeah, come here to Dunk Pond for a tremendous time. flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. The Indian Pass Trail offers hiking at its best, and wonderful skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting things to do in the Adirondack
Mountains. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cedar Pond is right next door to Dunk Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Indian River offers some good whitewater. Looking for something near Dunk Pond? Squirrel Pond is in the vicinity, and
there's nice hiking along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Adirondack Mountains. The view of Dunk Hill from Dunk Pond is gorgeous, and whitewater paddling is not
for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cedar River. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains.

 | 14 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
