Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Deerfly Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Malone. Duck Ponds generally gets a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. its best, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Malone. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Clear Brook while you're here at Duck Ponds, and camping
at Deer River Campsites is always a perfect experience. That right there is heaps of cool things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Don't leave Duck Ponds without first going for a hike along the McKenzie
Pond Trail; the summit of Black Cat Mountain can be observed from Duck Ponds. This is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Charlie Pond is a lake nearby; hey, Gotta ski right? Mount Pisgah is a nice spot to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Salmon River in a kayak; everybody close by loves skiing at Titus Mountain.

Silver Lake Mountain Trail

Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road. This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top. Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained.
