If you are in Rensselaer county it's always a good idea to stop by Douglas Pond. If you need a place to stay Jericho Valley Inn is a wonderful choice, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Green River. Take a hike on the Brickhouse Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors Jiminy Peak is a splendid site to spend a night or two. If you crave a little side journey, try Allen Hollow; if you came to camp Broken Wheel Campground is a fine place

| | to do that. Douglas Pond is a good site of common rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. But wait, there's more to do near Douglas Pond. There's so much to do here at Douglas Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Privacy Campground is a brilliant place for that. Lakes? is a glorious idea; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club if you're here. What would winter be without some skiing at Jiminy Peak, and there are plenty of people from Pittsfield here.
At Douglas Pond all through the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Douglas Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Konkapot Brook near Douglas Pond, and hiking along the Taconic Skyline Trail is magnificent fun. This place, Douglas Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors cool stuff. Why not take
a refreshing hike along the Southeast Hollow Trail, and here at Douglas Pond you can see Butternut Hill. Don't leave Douglas Pond without first checking out Eagle Rock; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Griswold Pond.

Alps Family Campground
 | this is a gREAt campground for people with children. They make you feel great about camping. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I would recomended this campground 110 percent!!!!...alps is the most awesome place to camp.they offer everything and anything there. we saw what they did at the 4th of july and the kids loved it. I advice any parents that have have kids to take them there........they WON'T be disapointed... |
