Go to Doe Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Doe Pond gets a normal amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Adirondack Mountains. Take a hike on the Twin Lakes Trail, and Doe Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Kayuta Lake Campground is a fine local campground. High temperatures at Doe Pond through the long summer

The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Doe Pond descend into the 0's. You just should like Doe Pond. so much to do here at Doe Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Brook Campsites is a fine location for that. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Whitewater
paddling is splendid on Black River, and good skiing awaits you at Snow Ridge. This lake is so wonderful. Doe Pond is right by the Forty Mountain Trail, and you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Woods Valley. Why
not take a refreshing hike along the Stone Dam Trail; Round Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Alder Creek Golf Course & Country Inn. This lake is one of
the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Little Woodhull Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by, and while you're here, you could also stop at wonderful Mudhole Pond.

Forty Mountain Trail
 | 12 miles away Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS. The summit offers limited views of the Black River area of the southwestern Adirondacks. Watch for black bears, as they are numerous in this region.... |
