After a long day outdoors Vrooman's Hotel is a nice place to spend a night or two, and if you come at the right time of year, Sprite Creek offers some great whitewater. Dexter Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Dexter Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll       meet a lot of people from Amsterdam here, and Pine Lake Campground and RV Park is a magnificent campground here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Adirondack Mountains. Stay the night at Crystal Grove Diamond Mine and Campground; close by you come across the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail which is a great hiking trail. During the summer highs here at Dexter Lake reach the 70's while overnight lows are frequently in the                  50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Dexter Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Dexter Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Dry Lake is in the neighborhood of Dexter Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit East Canada Creek. Going for a hike on the California Trail is always a pleasant adventure; the peak of Good Luck Mountain can be made out from Dexter Lake. These mountains rock, just check out all the amusing things to do in the Adirondack Mountains.
