Desert Pond is not the only place nearby, Lost Pond is a nearby lake, and hiking along the Post Henderson Trail is wonderful fun. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Salmon Lake Trail, and Desert Pond is a place with many visitors from Ogdensburg-Massena. The amount of precipitation that falls at Desert Pond is close to the national average; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
