Good hiking is available along the Post Henderson Trail, and let's not forget Compos Creek which is a stream that you may come across while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Salmon Lake Trail, and the wonderful folks of Ogdensburg-Massena like to hang out close by. Pinecone Restaurant is a brilliant spot to get some rest, and Desert Pond is a perfect place       to camp, Singing waters Campground is a perfect place. Having a perfect time at Desert Pond is uncomplicated. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Desert Pond; Norridge Trail is a great local trail; visit close by Desert Swamp. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a scenic lake called Little Mudhole near Desert Pond, and camping at Desert Pond is good fun, Natural Bridge K O A Camp Ground is a good local campground. If you need a place to stay Stillwater                  Motel is a fine choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch offers some great whitewater. Desert Pond is a good site of common rain; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. You can never get enough of the perfect skiing at McCauley Mountain; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Beaver River. High temperatures at Desert Pond throughout the summertime are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's.
