Buck's Rock Camp is a magnificent campground nearby; Old Drovers Inn is a tremendous place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Tamarack Swamp is an interesting swamp right next door to Depression Pond, and the slopes of Mohawk Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and everyone nearby loves skiing at Thunder Ridge. While you're here at Depression       Pond, you could also visit pretty Crane Pond, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Housatonic River. All through the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Depression Pond. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Depression Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
