Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch, and a brilliant swamp near Deer Pond is Bear Swamp. All through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Deer Pond with overnight lows in the 50's.       The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at Deer Pond during the wintertime frequently drop into the 0's. From a precipitation point of view Deer Pond is a rather common location; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's wonderful hiking along the Salmon Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great region for folks who like lakes.                  Rock Pond is a lake in the vicinity, and Natural Bridge/Watertown KOA is a splendid campground nearby. So much amusing stuff near Deer Pond, completely phenomenal. Don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to Burning Creek, and one of the governing highlights of the surroundings of Deer Pond is Bald Mountain.
