What a place this is for outdoors people. If you're here at Deer Pond, you could visit Conger Brook; if you come at the right time of year, St. Regis River - Middle Branch offers some glorious whitewater. You get a pleasant view of Little Hurd Hill from Deer Pond, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on St. Regis River - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Deer River       Campsites, and Deer Pond is not far at all from Malone. Lakes are perfect; Black Pond is a lake that's next to Deer Pond; if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Malone is a good choice. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Deer Pond. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are generally in the 20's while Deer Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. After a long day outdoors                  Crossroads Motel of Moira is a good place to spend a night or two, and Titus Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby. A nice site to camp here at Deer Pond is Santa Clara Riverside RV Park and Campground.
