A lake nearby is Lead Pond; Woodlake Inn is a delightful place to get some rest. Stay the night at Blue Jay Campsites, and Deer Pond is not the only place nearby, Whey Pond is a nearby lake. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things. Camp Cherokee is a nice campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors THE HOTEL SARANAC is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. Deer Pond is a good place       of typical rainfall; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January. Very charming scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Mount Pisgah; St. Regis River - Middle Branch has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. Deer Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. You'll meet a lot of folks from Malone here, and swamps don’t sound                  that wonderful but Deer Pond Marsh in the vicinity of Deer Pond is pretty wonderful. Through the long summer days, highs typically are in the 70's at Deer Pond; the overnight is a bit cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Deer Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not sufficient time.
