This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Rock River offers some good whitewater, and Whispering woods is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is magnificent at Mount Pisgah, and going for a hike on the Indian Pass Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Why not       camp at Cedar Pond Campground since you're here at Deer Pond, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Cold River. So many fun things in the Adirondack Mountains, just inspiring. Near Deer Pond you come across the Northville Lake Placid Trail which is a great hiking trail; why not go to close by Wolf Pond Outlet since you're here at Deer Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Catlin Lake, and if you need a location to stay Woodlake                  Inn is a great choice.
