Go to Deer Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Lakes are such calm spots, why not stop by Crystal Lake next to Deer Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Callicoon Creek - North Branch offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mount Tone, and there are other places here than Deer Lake, for example Glen Lake.
Camping is available at Twin Islands Campsite; dry warm beds await

you at The Lodge at Woodloch. All the water falling down from the sky makes Deer Lake a wet site; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. Why not camp at Butternut Grove Campsite since you're here at Deer Lake, and after a long day outdoors Villa Roma Resort Lodges is a great place to spend a night or two.
Man, is there heaps of cool things to do in the neighborhood of Deer Lake. There are some tremendous

whitewater spots on Callicoon Creek - East Branch, and a trip to Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River is worthwhile. At Deer Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Deer Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Schiff Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not a little side trip to Ash Clove Brook.
