If you like skiing, you're in luck; Sterling Forest is near DeForest Lake, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail.

site for whitewater paddling close to DeForest Lake is Popolopen Creek; a perfect nearby hotel is Best Western Nyack On Hudson. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at DeForest Lake. Kaufmann Henry Campgrounds
is a perfect campground here, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Woodtown Trail. For the period of the days of summer highs here at DeForest Lake reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures
are in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while DeForest Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. A quick trip to East Branch Hackensack
River in the vicinity of DeForest Lake is a perfect idea, needless to say you could also pop by Congers Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
