All year is a fine time in the Adirondack Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Gotta ski! Gore Mountain is a perfect place to do that; soar down the rapids of Cedar River in a kayak. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Crotched Pond. A quick trip to Doherty Brook close to Crotched Pond is a great idea, and if you       come at the right time of year, Rock River offers some good whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Northville Lake Placid Trail; Crotched Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hoss's Country Campground is a great local campground. The warmest time of the year at Crotched Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. For the period of the                  wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Crotched Pond. The amount of precipitation that falls at Crotched Pond is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; do take a look at John Mack Pond, it's a lovely lake.
