Yeah, come here to Crane Pond for a fine time. Why not camp at Lake Waramaug State Park while you're here at Crane Pond; going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a great adventure. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Housatonic River; Depression Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. The nice people of Torrington like to hang out nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Ten Mile River offers some glorious whitewater. There are nice locations to look at along the Northrop
Trail, and the snow is good at Mohawk Mountain. Summertime highs at Crane Pond generally tend to be in the 80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Crane Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
