A pleasant site to camp here at Crane Pond is Taconic State Park Rudd Pond; you'll meet a lot of people from Torrington here. You can run the rapids of Ten Mile River near Crane Pond, and Sharon Motor Lodge is a nice location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Crane Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Buck's Rock Camp is a great local       campground; at Crane Pond you can catch a sight of East Mountain. During the summertime highs here at Crane Pond reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Crane Pond. The annual rain here at Crane Pond is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Housatonic River is a delightful                  whitewater spot close to Crane Pond, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mohawk Mountain since you're here.
