This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Magic Pines Family Camp Grounds is a great campground here. Man, is there a load of fun things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Clear Pond; why not take a little visit to Kelley Brook since you're here. Paddling on Ausable River - West Branch is       so much fun, and folks from Plattsburgh love to come here. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too glorious to be true. If you need a place to stay Jay Lodge is a delightful choice; the Stimson Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. Stay the night at Au Sable River Campsite, and enjoy a round of golf at Indole Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful vista of picturesque Bald Mountain is available from Coonrod Pond,                  and close by you stumble on the Leach Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Coonrod Pond. Skiing at Whiteface Mountain is one of those things you just ought to do, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Weston Trail. Summertime highs at Coonrod Pond typically tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's.
