Collins Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Mohawk River, and enjoy a round of golf at Hillcrest Golf Club. You ought to explore Iroquois Peninsula when you're here at Collins Lake; skiing at Hickory Ski Center is one of those things you just have to do. to visit. Collins Lake ordinarily gets lots of precipitation; June is the month that gets the most rain while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Collins Creek flows through this vicinity, and if you
come at the right time of year, Normans Kill River offers some nice whitewater. At Collins Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and overnight lows at Collins Lake through the winter mostly dip into the 0's.
