This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. After a long day outdoors Hotel Mountain Brook is a good site to spend a night or two, and not far from Colgate Lake you'll discover Lake Rip Van Winkle which is a beautiful lake. If you need a place to stay Hotel Vienna is a good choice; a good place to camp here at Colgate Lake is Doherty's Mountain Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Colonial

| | Country Club, and since you're here, you could have a look at Halsey Brook. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Catskill Mountains is excellent! The panorama of Black Dome from Colgate Lake is wonderful, and magnificent hiking is available along the Phoenicia Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
