     If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn MT. KISCO (WESTCHESTER COUNTY) is a nice choice, and camping at Camp Echo Lake is always a nice experience. This lake is so wonderful. The view of beautiful Crow Hill near Cockrene Pond is perfect, and some close by water includes Chappaqua Brook. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Popolopen Creek; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. And if that's  
   not enough, there's heaps more to do next to Cockrene Pond. If you get bored of Cockrene Pond, you could also explore close by Deer Pond, and don't miss out on a good swamp; Gedney Swamp is right here at Cockrene Pond.
An afternoon playing golf at Pleasantville Country Club is always a bliss, and if you came to camp Camp Discovery is a tremendous site to do that. A magnificent nearby hotel is Edith Macy Conference Center, and going for a hike on the Appalachian
 
               National Scenic Trail is always a great adventure.
Through the warm months here at Cockrene Pond, high temperatures usually get into the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Cockrene Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Thunder Ridge are so inviting nobody can resist, and a lake close by is Heaptaugua Lake. Cockrene Pond frequently gets a good deal of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January on the other hand is the driest.

I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

.... I lived in the three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake w...
