If you are in Dutchess county it's always a good idea to stop by Christie Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ten Mile River; camping at Christie Pond is pleasant fun, Sylvan Lake Beach Park is a pleasant local campground. If you need a site to stay Dutchess Motor Lodge is a great choice, and hey, Gotta ski right? Thunder Ridge is a fine place to do that. If you're here, you might as well check out Clove Valley.

After a long day outdoors Pine Grove Motel is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and swing by Clove Brook it's a perfect site to stop by. A tour to Clove Spring will fill your spirit with nice feelings, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Tenmile. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is brilliant fun. Lakes are wonderful; Furnace Pond is a lake that's near Christie Pond. During the summertime months at Christie Pond temperatures are usually in the 80's, and throughout
the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Christie Pond sink into the 10's.
