     If you need a site to stay Edith Macy Conference Center is a good choice. Lakes are pleasant; Pleasant Lake is a lake that's right next door to Choate Pond. So many fun things to do here at Choate Pond, too wonderful to be true. Here at Choate Pond you'll perhaps meet some people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown; Caney Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at. You can run the rapids of Popolopen Creek next to Choate Pond.  
   Playing golf is lots of fun at Pleasantville Country Club, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites.
The top of Beech Hill is easily seen from Choate Pond, and not far from Choate Pond you'll stumble on Beech Hill Pond which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Choate Pond lays in the shadow of the Pocantico Hills, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Choate Pond; Stillwell Lake Trail is a nice local trail. There's splendid hiking
 
               along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at Choate Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Discovery is a good site for that.
This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; you can stay the night at Camp Echo Lake. High temperatures at Choate Pond throughout the months of summer are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Choate Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. The high level of precipitation makes Choate Pond a relatively wet location; through July this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

...three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or ...

KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. THE LAKE IS PRETTY COOL, HAS LARGEMOUTH BASS, SUNFISH. ALTHOUGH THE FISH DONT BITE ALL DAY, THEY EAT AT DIFFERENT TIMES MAKING IT PERFECT TO TRY TO GET YOUNGSTERS HOOKED ON FISHING. THE PARK IS GREAT TO JUST WALK IN THE WOODS OR GO FISHING AND TO FORGET ABOUT LIFE FOR A WHILE!!...
