Lakes are pleasant; Pleasant Lake is a lake that's right next door to Choate Pond. So many fun things to do here at Choate Pond, too wonderful to be true. Here at Choate Pond you'll perhaps meet some people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown; Caney Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at. You can run the rapids of Popolopen Creek next to Choate Pond.       Playing golf is lots of fun at Pleasantville Country Club, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites. The top of Beech Hill is easily seen from Choate Pond, and not far from Choate Pond you'll stumble on Beech Hill Pond which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Choate Pond lays in the shadow of the Pocantico Hills, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Choate Pond; Stillwell Lake Trail is a nice local trail. There's splendid hiking                  along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at Choate Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Discovery is a good site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; you can stay the night at Camp Echo Lake. High temperatures at Choate Pond throughout the months of summer are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Choate Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's.
