 | 14 miles away Hey, for anyone interested in kyaking or Canoeing down the Ro-Jan Kill beware: There are many downed trees, which in an instant could pin you down and end your life. No one maintains this water way, and in many sections you will be forced by naturally occurring dams to get out of your canoe, or kyak and walk you and your vessel down stream through thickets of nettle. Personally I completed a trip down this beautiful stream unaware of the many deadly stimuli. So if in the near future you plan to get away from everything, just take note to the above.... |

| 14 miles away I kayaked this stretch the day after a big rainstorm in a recreational kayak and it was considerably more difficult than the review makes it out to be. Several downed trees and a huge beaver dam were the worst obstacles. Bingham Mills to Dales Bridge has some dangerous spots. Dales Bridge to the Hudson River is considerably tamer but only about a 40 minute trip. I kayaked it in early June 2006.... |
