You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the area in close proximity to Cheney Pond has to offer. Lester Dam has good water scenery and it's in the neighborhood of Cheney Pond, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a good place to spend a night or two. Throughout the months of summer at Cheney Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's, and through the night it cools down       to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cheney Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cheney Pond; Dividing Ridge Trail is a fine local trail, and Boreas River - Upper has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Paddling on Boreas River is so much fun, and if you came to camp Cedar Pond Campground                  is a magnificent site to do that. So many entertaining things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too magnificent to be true. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Van Hoevenberg Trail, and do take a look at Brant Brook while you're here at Cheney Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail, and Cheney Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Paradise Pines is a wonderful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. An average amount of rain falls at Cheney Pond; all through August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. All year is a good time in the Adirondack Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Gotta ski!
