     New York has many beautiful lakes and Cheney Pond is one of them. The Northville Lake Placid Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the neighborhood of Cheney Pond, and as expected, this is a wonderful area for people who like lakes, Split Rock Pond is a lake around here. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a nice time. Near Cheney Pond you discover the Oregon Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and Goodnow River is near Cheney Pond and is always  
   a joy to pop by.
Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a brilliant site to get some rest, and Hudson River is a nice whitewater spot close by. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Gore Mountain. There's so much to do here at Cheney Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Hoss's Country Campground is a glorious spot for that. Cheney Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains.
 
               This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Indian River in the neighborhood of Cheney Pond. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Cheney Pond has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Pond Campground. Throughout the summertime at Cheney Pond temperatures are mostly in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cheney Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. The top of Buck Hill is easily seen from Cheney Pond. Lakes are good; Frank Pond is a lake that's in the vicinity of Cheney Pond.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Cheney Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail close to Cheney Pond called the Indian Pass Trail; swamps are interesting places and Blackwell Stillwater close to Cheney Pond is no exception.

Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-...
