There are nice spots to explore along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and Campsite is a great local campground. Having a good time at Chase Lake is painless. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny is a nice location to spend a night or two; a lake nearby is Mud Lake. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake       is so wonderful. Why not camp at Ranch Side Park since you're here at Chase Lake; glide down the rapids of West Stony Creek in a kayak. Dry warm beds await you at Johnstown/Gloversville Super 8 Motel; get soaked paddling on Holmes Lake Outlet. Chase Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are                  in the 80's at Chase Lake; the nighttime is slightly colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Chase Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
