Lake Champlain

This glorious lake has 587 miles of shoreline and 436 square miles of surface area.

The nearby grade IV, 6.5-mile-long Military Turnpike below Schuyler Falls to Lake Champlain segment of whitewater on Salmon River is a load of fun. For whitewater kayaking or rafting this part of Salmon River is a cool place. There's a good category III-V+ stretch of whitewater close by on Ausable River, the 6-mile-long Keeseville to US Route 9 sector. Kayak paddlers
on this stretch of Ausable River should possess quite a little skill in whitewater paddling. Always check the situation previous to going whitewater paddling since whitewater paddling is a dangerous thing to do.
