Cedar Pond gets a normal amount of rain; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. For the period of the months of summer at Cedar Pond highs are ordinarily in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while Cedar Pond overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Cedar Pond

| | is not the only location close by, Mud Pond is a close by lake, and if you've had enough of Cedar Pond, Beaver Ponds is nearby. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. If you're here at Cedar Pond, you could stop by Nate Pond Brook; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Oregon Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. stay Cedar Pond Campground is a tremendous site to camp; the summit of Dunk Hill can be made out from Cedar Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Hoss's Country Campground is a perfect campground nearby, and on a fine day you can take
a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. Don't leave Cedar Pond without first checking out Blue Ledge, and get soaked paddling on Cedar River. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is peerless!
Near Cedar Pond you locate the Indian Pass Trail which is a great hiking trail; if you need a place to stay Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a nice choice. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Cedar Pond is excellent! The slopes of Gore Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and paddling on Hudson River is so much fun.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 15 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
