There's glorious hiking along the South Slope Trail, and you can run the rapids of Taughannock Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cayuta Lake; Gorge Trail is a nice local trail, and why not camp at       Cool-lea Camp if you're here at Cayuta Lake. Cayuta Lake gets a typical amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically June, that's the one that rains the most; January meanwhile is the driest month. After a long day outdoors Falls Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two, and the Finger Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best. So many enjoyable things to do at Cayuta Lake, so little time. Relax Inn is a brilliant place to get some rest,                  and if you came for an overnight stay Potomac Group Campground is a perfect location to camp. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Cayuta Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
