You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Cayuta Lake. Good hiking is available along the Gorge Trail, and if you get bored of Cayuta Lake you could also take a look at close by Buckeys Pond. This lake is so wonderful.       A delightful nearby hotel is Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, and if you're dropping by from Elmira, you won't be the only one. After a long day outdoors Idlwilde Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Cayuta Lake has to offer, you can camp at Cool-lea Camp. Cayuta Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here, and January is the month with                  the least moisture. Go for a hike on the South Slope Trail, and paddling on Taughannock Creek is so much fun. For the duration of the warm months here at Cayuta Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Cayuta Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cayuta Lake; Finger Lakes Trail is a good local trail.
