You can run the rapids of Saranac River - North Branch near Catamount Pond, and let's not forget Elbow Brook which is a stream that you may encounter during your stay. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail is pleasant fun, and Hotel Saranac is a good spot to get some rest. At Catamount Pond through the summer highs are in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer       temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Catamount Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Pisgah has good slopes and a friendly staff, and at Catamount Pond you can see Catamount. Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is abundant here in the Adirondack Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Bass Lake is close at hand, and a great site to camp here at Catamount Pond is Donaldson George A and Sons. If you                  go for the outdoors, you'll adore Catamount Pond. Salmon River is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Catamount Pond, and a fine close by hotel is THE HOTEL SARANAC. Why not take a refreshing hike along the McKenzie Pond Trail, and camping at Pioneer Village is always a good experience. Hit the slopes at Whiteface Mountain in the vicinity. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Adirondack Mountains. Catamount Pond is right by the Schwartz Trail; Horse Head Point is nearby and always great to stop at.
