Summer at Castor Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Castor Pond. Castor Pond gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; November is when you get the most rain here while February is usually the driest month. What a place this is       for outdoors people. The slopes of Dry Hill are so inviting noone can resist. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Castor Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Stoney's Pineville Campground is a pleasant site for that, and a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Salmon River. Horseshoe Bend is a perfect place to visit while in the area; you can run the rapids of Mad River. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Castor                  Pond has to offer, you can camp at Up Country Family Campground, and a good close by hotel is Jayhawkers Lodge.
