If you come at the right time of year, Sacandaga River offers some wonderful whitewater, and a splendid nearby hotel is The Saratoga Hotel and Conference Center. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Carp Pond there are plenty of people from Albany-Schenectady-Troy. Bailey Hill is a peak you can observe from Carp Pond, and camping at Carp Pond is good fun, Fuller Lakes Campgorund is a good local campground. Carp Pond is       a pretty wet place typically with lots of precipitation; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. So much exciting stuff to do at Carp Pond, so little time. A pretty lake like Taylor Pond right next door to Carp Pond is a glorious place to visit, and if you need a spot to stay Country Club Motel is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. There are some fine whitewater spots on                  Hudson River, and since you're here you can play some golf at Brookhaven Golf Club. At Carp Pond through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; night lows at Carp Pond through the wintertime mostly drop into the 0's. Hickory Ski Center is a very popular ski area around here, and of course Mud Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit.
