Sand Pond is a splendid lake right next door to Carlson Pond, and a spree to Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River is recommended. If you come at the right time of year, Beaver Kill River offers some nice whitewater, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Callicoon Creek - North Branch. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. For you golfers we recommend nearby Twin       Village Golf Club, and after a long day outdoors Villa Roma Resort Lodges is a nice site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Carlson Pond is a reasonably wet place frequently with a good deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls through May, and February on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Carlson Pond during the days of summer are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's.                  High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Carlson Pond are in the 10's. Lakes are such calm spots, why not stop at Shandelee Lake near Carlson Pond, and you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Schiff Trail. If you need a place to stay Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY is a good choice, and if you came to camp Camp Shomria is a nice spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Holiday Mountain since you're here.
