Calahan Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. So many fun things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not sufficient time. Boreas River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and the Van Hoevenberg Trail offers hiking at its best. The amount of rainfall that falls at Calahan Pond is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most,       and the driest of the months is February. Good hiking is available along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Calahan Pond has to offer, you can camp at Smoke Rise Campsites. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Big Sherman Pond is near Calahan Pond. There's so much to do here at Calahan Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Ideal Campsites is a great location for that. Man, is there a lot of enjoyable                  stuff to do in the vicinity of Calahan Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Calahan Pond; Dividing Ridge Trail is a great local trail; the snow is magnificent at Gore Mountain. At Calahan Pond during the summer months highs are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's while Calahan Pond night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. This spot, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things.
