Cage Lake gets a common amount of yearly rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Adirondack Mountains. There's whitewater on Oswegatchie River - East Branch for all you adrenaline people; McCauley Mountain has fine slopes and a friendly staff. If you love the outdoors       you'll love it here in the Adirondack Mountains. You could also go to Buck Pond while you're here at Cage Lake; it's close by, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sunset Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Cage Lake called the The Loop, and Singing waters Campground is a fine campground here. All through the warm months highs here at Cage Lake get into the 70's with                  overnight lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Cage Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. On a fine day at Cage Lake you can take a hike along the Post Henderson Trail; swamps like Deer Marsh are fun to go to. You can run the rapids of Little River in close proximity to Cage Lake, and camping at Cage Lake is great fun, Robinson's Iga is a great local campground. You'll meet a lot of people from Ogdensburg-Massena here; Round Hill can be spotted from Cage Lake. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Cage Lake.
