This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Callicoon Creek - North Branch offers some pleasant whitewater, and camping at Catskill Mountain Kampground is always a fine experience. One of the principal features of the surroundings of Cables Lake is Rodgers Hill; nearby you find great places like Pond Hollow. This site, the Catskill Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Get yourself       into a kayak and hit Beaver Kill River; since you're here, you could also go to pretty Lake Mimi. Cables Lake mostly gets a good deal of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. So much exciting stuff to do in the Catskill Mountains, not enough time. Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY is a delightful spot to get some rest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Catskill Mountains. Not enough hours                  in a day to enjoy this place. Twin Village Golf Club is a golf course near Cables Lake, and do take a look at Mud Pond, it's a lovely lake. At Cables Lake through the summer highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Cables Lake.
