A visit to Byram Lake Reservoir is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco (Westchester Cty),Ny, and this is a popular spot for folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. Glide down the rapids of Norwalk River in a kayak, and after a long day outdoors Wellesley Inn Armonk is a great site to spend a night or two. High temperatures at Byram Lake Reservoir throughout the warm days of summer are in the 80's

The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Byram Lake Reservoir sink into the 10's. Byram Lake Reservoir is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; through May this area sees the most rain while January is ordinarily the driest month. Soundview Sports is a great location for that; Windmill Lake is a nice lake close by. Hit the slopes at Thunder Ridge in the neighborhood. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Byram
Lake Reservoir. A pretty lake like North Lake close to Byram Lake Reservoir is a great place to go to, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Glenarbor Golf Club. If you came to camp Camp Echo Lake is a good site to do that, and close by you locate the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a good hiking trail.

Dixon Lake
 | 13 miles away ... the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to Austin... |
