A great location to camp here at Butterfield Lake is Kring Point State Park; during your journey here you'll meet some people from Watertown-Fort Drum for sure. You're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Sixberry Lake       is one of those nearby, and Oswegatchie River is a nice whitewater spot close by. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Butterfield Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
