If you are in Rensselaer county it's always a good idea to stop by Burden Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Catamount is near Burden Lake; the fine folks of Hudson like to hang out close by. For the period of the warm days of summer at Burden Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Burden

After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Castleton On Hudson is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby
called the Brickhouse Mountain Trail. Americas Best Inns Poughkeepsie is a good spot to get some rest, and close by you stumble on the Southeast Hollow Trail which is a fine hiking trail. A day on the slopes of Jiminy Peak is just what you need, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Taconic Skyline Trail.
