If you are in Saratoga county it's always a good idea to stop by Bullhead Pond. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Nearby lakes? Sure, Harrisburg Lake is in close proximity to Bullhead Pond. Bullhead Pond is a good place of normal rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do near Bullhead Pond.

| | If you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Thousand Acres Golf Club, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Oregon Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Stony Creek is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel is a great place to spend a night or two. Cherith In-Adirondacks is a tremendous spot to camp nearby, and good skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain. All through the summer months highs here at Bullhead Pond reach the 70's, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, regularly
in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Bullhead Pond dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Sacandaga Campground is a magnificent local campground, and whitewater
paddling is great on East Stony Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. From Bullhead Pond you get a pleasant view of Ohmer Mountain, obviously you could also pop by Sand Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.

It is owned by Suny College Of Environmental Science and Forestry. There are no motors allowed on the lake. No fires and no overnight camping allowed. Dogs must be on a leash. There is great fishing, canoeing and kayaking. An absolutely beautiful lake in the woods. The lake has handicapped fishing access as well.... |
