     An average amount of rainfall falls at Buckhorn Ponds; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. There are tremendous locations to look at along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and you can run the rapids of Sacandaga River - East Branch. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Not far from Buckhorn Ponds, you'll locate Hayes Flow which  
   is a lovely lake; Buckhorn Ponds is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Ranch Side Park is a pleasant local campground.
Buckhorn Ponds is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Buckhorn Mountain can be made out from Buckhorn Ponds. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things right next door to Buckhorn Ponds. Go for a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail. Lakes? Sure, Mud Ponds is in close proximity.
 
               Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. Cotter Brook is a great place to go to, and you can hit the slopes at Gore Mountain close at hand. For the period of the warm months highs here at Buckhorn Ponds reach the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's; nighttime lows all through the winter for Buckhorn Ponds tend to be in the 0's. Buckhorn Ponds is not far at all from Gloversville, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Georgia Brook.
Going for a hike on the Oregon Trail is always a splendid adventure. There's so much to do here at Buckhorn Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Rainbows End is a tremendous place for that.

Buckhorn Lake is a private Association Lake located 2 miles north of Unadilla, New York (in Otsego County). Very friendly towns folk and this lake holds the New York State Record for a Large Mouth Bass caught in 1994. The lake is fed by many underground springs but is not ery deep. Makes for a lovely, though short drive around it....
