    Go to Buck Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Just can't get enough of the Adirondack Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Buck Pond; Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail is a perfect local trail, and since you're here, you could also go to beautiful Hamilton Lake. The top of Bear Mountain is easily observed from Buck Pond, and do pop by Lake Chartreuse, it's a delightful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side spree to Dugway Creek; if you  
   need a place to stay Johnstown/Gloversville Super 8 Motel is a glorious choice.
Buck Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. All the outdoors exciting things in close proximity to Buck Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Get your heart pumping on the brilliant whitewater of Sacandaga River - Middle Branch; why not take a refreshing hike along the Sucker Brook Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Summer at Buck Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Buck Pond fall into the 0's. The high level of rain makes Buck Pond a pretty wet site; most of the rain falls throughout November, and the driest of the months is February. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny is a perfect spot to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Ranch Side Park.
And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. You'll meet a lot of people from Gloversville here, and a glorious spot to camp here at Buck Pond is Pine Lake Campground and RV Park.

Buckhorn Lake
Buckhorn Lake is a private Association Lake located 2 miles north of Unadilla, New York (in Otsego County). Very friendly towns folk and this lake holds the New York State Record for a Large Mouth Bass caught in 1994. The lake is fed by many underground springs but is not ery deep. Makes for a lovely, though short drive around it....

Never been there...going there soon though....l\Love it there, going today. :)...Great spot for swimming in the summer. Clear waters, with many rocks and small cliffs to jump off, along with a rope swing! Its a heavily used area, made apparent by the large amount of garbage left around during the busy months, but  all in all a good lake and definatley worth the short hike....

Morehouse Lake is completely on private property under the ownership of the Morehouse Lake Club which was founded in 1889 and also has within it's borderline Barto Lake and Mud Pond. The outlet stream is called Little Goldmine and runs southeasterly into the East Canada Creek near Powley Place....
