Buck Pond is a rather wet place ordinarily with a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Dry warm beds await you at THE HOTEL SARANAC, and get dripping wet paddling on Salmon River.

   things just keep reading. The peak of Big Haystack Mountain can be spotted from Buck Pond; whitewater paddling is fine on Saranac River - North Branch. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. There's splendid hiking along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail; Whiteface Mountain has glorious slopes and a friendly staff.

Lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop at Oregon Pond in the neighborhood of Buck Pond; you can stay the night at Pioneer Village. All through the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Buck Pond. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Buck Pond tend to be in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Buck Pond without first going for a hike along the McKenzie Pond Trail, and Lake Kushaqua is a brilliant lake close by. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Adirondack Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Schwartz Trail, and Donaldson George A and Sons is a perfect campground nearby.

Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained. A little effort can go a long way......
