There are great sites to explore along the Twin Lakes Trail, and an afternoon playing golf at Woodgate Pines Golf Club is always a diversion. Hit the slopes at Snow Ridge in close proximity, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Stone Dam Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Cropsey Creek flows through this vicinity, and camping is available at Stysh's       Brown Barn Campgrounds. Here at Buck Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Utica-Rome, and a nice place to camp here at Buck Lake is Moose River Camp Grounds. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Moose River; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Woods Valley. Buck Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February                  is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Buck Lake during the summer are in the 70's, and the night is rather chillier of course, typically in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Buck Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sunset Inn. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Utica is a great choice, and Black River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by.
