After a long day outdoors Wingate By Wyndham Rome is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Stone Dam Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and Buck Lake is a place with many visitors from Utica-Rome. The yearly precipitation here at Buck Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount       of precipitation. High temperatures at Buck Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 70's; the night is a tad chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Buck Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great globe it would be. Enjoy a round of golf at Woodgate Pines Golf Club not far from Buck Lake, and a nice site                  to camp here at Buck Lake is Cold Brook Campsites. You're possibly interested in lakes, Barnes Lake is one of those close by; on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail. Some of the water close by flows, like Cropsey Creek, and glorious skiing awaits you at Snow Ridge. While you're here at Buck Lake you can take a hike along the Forty Mountain Trail, and Black River is a splendid whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Moose River Camp Grounds, and you can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Woods Valley. This is a good neighborhood for people who like lakes.
