    If you are in Putnam county it's always a good idea to stop by Bryant Pond. Take a little visit to Wiccopee Brook if you're here at Bryant Pond, and Holiday Inn Express FISHKILL is a great location to get some rest. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Bryant Pond. If you need a spot to stay Residence Inn By Marriott Fishkill is a fine choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Bryant Pond; Stillwell Lake Trail  
   is a brilliant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Wappinger Creek, and Country Club at Lake Mc Gregory is a golf course nearby.
Gotta ski! Thunder Ridge is a delightful site to do that, and do go to Barger Pond, it's a striking lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Bryant Pond while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's; nighttime lows at Bryant Pond during the winter
 
               regularly descend into the 10's. Secor Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by; Camp Discovery is a glorious campground nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Bryant Hill can be distinguished from Bryant Pond; at Bryant Pond you always meet someone from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown. Paddling on Popolopen Creek is so much fun, and Bryant Pond is a good site to visit for more than one day, Camp Kiwi is a good site to camp nearby. Bryant Pond is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

Dixon Lake
... in the three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cot...

Lounsbury Pond is in Blue Mountain Reservation and not really that close to the Appalachian Trail or Beaver Pond. Sterling Forest is about 45 minutes away. You cannot camp at Blue Mountain Reservation. Stillwater Lake is in Putnam County and the trail near it is unmarked and not named....
