Hudson River is a splendid whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Brown Pond. There's so much to do here at Brown Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cedar Pond Campground is a perfect place for that. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Thirteenth Brook, and Brown Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Smoke

The amount of rain that falls at Brown Pond is close to the national average; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff near Brown Pond. The Oregon Trail is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Brown Pond, and lakes are such calm spots, why not explore Gardner Pond. the vicinity of Brown Pond is a good place to go to, and if you need a place to stay Courtyard Lake Placid is a pleasant choice. For the duration of the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Brown Pond. Once the sun
is down it drops down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Brown Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. You absolutely must go for the Adirondack Mountains. At
Brown Pond you can see Big Thirteenth Lake Mountain, and why not visit nearby Peaked Mountain Brook since you're here at Brown Pond. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Near Brown Pond you
locate the Northville Lake Placid Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Gore Mountain if you're here.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 19 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
