     The beauty of Black River Pond attracts many people from all around. The trees of Capital District Forest And Game Refuge are a great source of shade on hot summer days. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Black River Pond has to offer, you can camp at Alps Family Campground. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Black River Pond. Very charming scenery and good skiing is what you get at Mount Greylock Ski Club, and if you need a site  
   to stay Jiminy Peak is a nice choice. The peak of Buck Rock can be observed from Black River Pond. There's so much to do here at Black River Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Broken Wheel Campground is a glorious location for that.
Glide down the rapids of Green River in a kayak, and a great close by hotel is Jericho Valley Inn. The annual precipitation here at Black River Pond is about average; through the month of July you get the most rain around
 
               here while February is ordinarily the driest month. Gotta ski! Jiminy Peak is a good location to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to Rocky Brook since you're here at Black River Pond, and Black River Pond is right by the Southeast Hollow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Poesten Kill River, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Brickhouse Mountain Trail. The warmest time of the year at Black River Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Black River Pond tend to be in the 10's.
Hiking along the Taconic Skyline Trail is pleasant fun, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Pittsfield here.
