Wanika Falls is a great local attraction, and a lake nearby is Moose Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Ausable River - West Branch is a delightful whitewater spot right next door to Black Pond, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Indian Pass Trail. At Black Pond you can see Three Peaks. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater       paddling on Cold River, and enjoy a round of golf at Craig Wood Golf & Country Club. Whiteface Mountain has delightful slopes and a friendly staff, and going for a hike on the Van Hoevenberg Trail is always a great adventure. Black Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. All year is a glorious time in the Adirondack Mountains if you love the outdoors. Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and a splendid spot                  to camp here at Black Pond is Pioneer Village. So many exciting things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too delightful to be true. Camping is available at Adirondak Loj; nearby you come across the McKenzie Pond Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. From a rain point of view Black Pond is a rather common place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Dry warm beds await you at Swiss Acres Inn; glorious skiing awaits you at Mount Pisgah. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Black Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
