Be careful coming to Black Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. Why not camp at Pioneer Village since you're here at Black Pond, and hiking along the McKenzie Pond Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is so wonderful. Woodlake Inn is a good place to get some rest, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Van Hoevenberg Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. Get covered with water paddling on Boreas River - Upper;

| | while you're here, you could also check out scenic Ward Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Cold River is so much fun, and getting to Santanoni Brook from Black Pond is simple. What would winter be without some skiing at Gore Mountain, and Black Pond is right by the Indian Pass Trail. and Shaw Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Black Pond; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
If you need a site to stay Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a magnificent choice; a glorious site to camp here at Black Pond is Cedar Pond Campground. Black Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Gotta ski! Mount Pisgah is a delightful location to do that.

 | 18 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over.
