Go for a hike on the Berrymile Pond Trail. What a place this is for outdoors folks. There's tremendous hiking along the Treadway Mountain Trail, and La Chute River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous spot to camp here at Black Mountain Ponds is Scenic View Campground; don't leave Black Mountain Ponds without first going for       a hike along the Lost Pond Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Black Mountain Ponds there are plenty of folks from Glens Falls, and if you need a site to stay The Sagamore is a glorious choice. The annual precipitation here at Black Mountain Ponds is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January.
